We live in a world of yang; moving quickly, not having enough time in the day to breath, running to work and always feeling pressured to do more. We are encouraged to work longer hours more often to make something of our lives, and have a feeling of guilt if we rest and relax.Balancing out our yin with the yang keeps us positive and happy. Here is a smoothie recipe to lift your mood and nourish your yin!!!

Ingredients
1cupBlueberries
1/2Banana
1tbspAlmond Butter
1/4cupBeetrootCooked for 15 min and then cooled
1HandfulSpinach
1tspCinnamon2 tsp, if you really like it
2cupsWater
2cupsMilk of your choice
Instructions
Cook the Beetroot for 15 minutes and then allow to cool
Blend everything together and enjoy

Beetroot is cool in nature and sweet
It clears heat from the body and nourishes the blood.
Beetroot is yin because of its cooling effect on the body
Cinnamon is yang due to its warming nature
It nurtures the yang and tonifies the spleen and stomach.
