Guacamole to Nourish Your Yin

Avocado is a delicious creamy fruit and one of my favorites. It has one of the highest mono-saturated fatty acid content for a fruit and the smallest amount of saturated and polyunsaturated fats which translates as it contains really good fats to lubricate the intestines and to help with constipation. It also has 3 times the potassium of a banana. Enjoy this delicious and simple guacamole recipe.

Notes

  • Avocado is cool, and a bit sweet in Chinese medicine and is great for people who are experiencing hot symptoms like hot flashes, constipation, night sweats, a dry cough and an itchy rash.
  • Cilantro is also a cooling herb that moves the qi and helps with a lack of appetite and nausea.
